Things to do in Bathampton

There’s bags of greenery in Bathampton. Bathampton Wood, Bathwick Wood, and Hengrove Wood are all within a walk of each other. But the most notable is the Bathampton Meadow and Oxbow Wetland Nature Reserve, which has 16 species of dragonfly, and 18 species of butterfly. It hasn’t quite lived up to the hope of attracting major bird life, but give it time. It was only created in the mid nineties as environmental compensation for the construction of the Batheaston by-pass.

The Reserve is the only wetland in the Bath area — unless you count everywhere during the winter of 2014.
