Neem Tree Trust Charity Evening November 2011

Crisp Cowley celebrated the launch of the Bath Christmas Market, located on their doorstep, by throwing open their doors that evening to help raise money for The Neem Tree Trust, a locally based charity run by Kathy and Ken Miller of Freshford, supporting disadvantaged children in south India. The Trust was able to sell gifts made by the children and also paper and cards that had been designed by them. Crisp Cowley provided a wonderful Bollywood atmosphere, with Indian food and music and giant original hand painted Bollywood film posters adorning the walls of the office.
The sale raised over £350 and Crisp Cowley matched the sale proceeds pound for pound so that the eventual total was over £700.
Kathy will be visiting the children in India in January and will be taking with her all donations raised by the charity during the last twelve months and will be reporting back to their supporters on how the money will be spent.

Opera Sponsorship

A unique, one off public performance of Handel's dramatic opera Rodelinda at St John's Hospital Bath on Sunday 31st July 2011, doors open at 5 pm

Crisp Cowley are very pleased to announce sponsorship of the above event, which is being held in the newly refurbished Chapel of St Michael Within, at the heart of St John’s in the celebrated city centre.

St John's Hospital is a registered charity providing Almshouse accommodation, community grants and individual financial support to people in need. The historic charitable trust is as old as Bath itself; founded in 1174, it has served the community for over 800 years.

For the first time in its history, St John’s has launched an appeal – the 1174 Appeal – to raise funds for the major refurbishment of its city centre almshouses. The proceeds from this event will all go towards supporting the Appeal.

In collaboration with world-renowned Iford Arts and Early Opera Company, artists will perform excerpts from one of Handel’s earliest operas, written in 1725, under the guidance of distinguished harpsichordist Christian Curnyn.

During the pre-performance reception the Musical Director will outline the key elements of the performance and the artists will join guests for drinks and canapés for the post-performance event.
