Spring 2019

It is quite incredible how robust the Bath market has been so far this year; our sales are up by 52% on last year and the news and uncertainty surrounding Brexit couldn’t have been worse…… so how come?

Well, it’s fairly straight forward really. Plug enough uncertainty into the news and vendors retreat (yes, buyers do as well). However, there are still some very determined buyers who are not concerned about the potential of Armageddon and just want to get on and move house and crucially find the right home for their family for the next 15 to 20 years. The short term economic and political gloom never lasts forever and many people who might be moving from Hong Kong, London or even locally just want to find the right house. We would say that more than 70% of our houses over £1,000,000 this year have been sold to local buyers who are ready to pounce when the right property comes up.

It will be interesting to see if more properties start to come onto the market later in the year and perhaps normality will return. In the meantime, we are very excited about the houses we are selling and would love to talk to you about your sale when the time comes.
